I am the wife to The Fireman, and we live with our five kiddos in a little house in Northern Nevada. I teach and minister to a neighborhood up the road by working as their 5th grade teacher and helping to pastor a church in the same neighborhood. We try to lead by example, keep the big picture always in view, and challenge our kids to look beyond themselves to others who are truly struggling.
I am elbow deep in writing a book. Keep up with all of that and more here on the blog; don't miss a thing- check me out on Instagram and Facebook. The links are somewhere around here.
On Tuesdays, we eat tacos. You're all invited.

"Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life - well, valuable,
but small - and sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or
because I haven't been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of
something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around? I
don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question
out into the void. So good night, dear void.

Hi Shontell, its Kari Larsen-Janacek. I tried sending you a text over the weekend but I must have the wrong phone number. Just wanted to let you know my brother Randy passed away over the weekend. So sad! It's been so sad for Anna, Brian and I. And even more so for my parents....they are heart broken. We put together a video for him on youtube. Just type in Randall Scott Larsen and it will pull up. Like I said, just wanted to let you know... (I know you're not on facebook). Please keep us in your prayers! My email is kjanacek73@gmail.com

Shontell, man I wish we lived in the same neighborhood! I have loved reading your posts. It was fun catching up with you at our reunion. You are still one of the coolest girls around and it's nice to see you are passing on the "good stuff" to your kids. I wish my kids could grow up next to yours!
Kellie! Thank you for saying this :D I had so much fun reconnecting at the reunion. Keep posting! I love seeing your family. Happy anniversary a little late!
