So many times when you go through tough times you hear people say really great encouraging words. You may even think them yourself. You may do a good job at keeping perspective. You may have great faith and confidence in what God has for you. And still, you can feel melancholy through it all.
It's good to remember that having strong faith in God's plans for you doesn't mean you have to be an annoying cheer leader or super bubbly all of the time. You don't have to have an incessant fake smile on your face.
You can be sad. You can grieve for what you have lost. You can need some time to just be. You can do all of this and still BE all of that up there. There is certainly a fine line between this behavior and really falling off the edge into depression. This melancholy is short lived; it's a healing process- not a check out.
So for now, I want to just be melancholy and wait for God to do what he is gonna do.

Shontell you are beautiful beyond all regard. I love you with every ounce of my heart, body, and soul. I would not be half the man I am without your love, acceptance, and devotion. It is with tear filled eyes that I write this to tell you that it is ok... be melancholy, be mad, be sad, be whatever you need to be. But, through it all remember that with our love for one another and Gods grace we can't and will not be defeated.
I Love You,
Michael
My heart hurts for both of you right now for having to go through this. I am so deeply sorry. :(
And I have to agree with The Man...the love that you two have for each other, and the love and faith you have in God will get you through this. He has a plan, and He has put it into play. Just remember what I tell myself everyday:
"For I know the plans I have for you" Declares the Lord,"Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE."
Love you smoochie boochie~ Call me is you need to be melancholy on the phone :)

and it's true, you are so right, don't skip the pain or grieving. we don't like to be in pain or grieve and so we often try to rush through it but it's so important.
